My lords of Aloria, our worst fear has come to pass—the Orb, it is gone.
– Brand, Warder of Riva
It has been four thousand years since the dragon god Torak marched his forces into the West in an effort to exercise control over the fabled Orb of Aldur, an act which rent the world asunder and set the prideful deity aflame.
It has been five hundred years since Torak was slain on the battlefields of Vo Mimbre, scattering his surviving followers to the winds, distraught and disorganized.
It has been one day since the impossible has happened—through some unknown means, Torak’s most devious and talented followers have managed to steal the Orb of Aldur from its safekeeping on the desolate Isle of Winds, no doubt in an effort to bend it once more to their dread god’s will.
As kings and queens prepare for war the likes of which the world has not seen for centuries, viziers and scholars pour over the ancient prophecies hoping to avert global catastrophe, or at the very least understand their part in the coming battle.
Our heroes may not yet feel the pull of destiny which draws them into a battle which has raged between light and dark for untold millennia, but they are called nevertheless, step by unsteady step, to their rightful place in the annals of history. That is, if there is to be any history left…
